In-School Field Trip: Program Varies
Our programs are designed to meet criteria/NGSS/common core for the grade chosen. There are some programs that overlap in grades. Most programs have live animal ambassadors that complement the lesson to be shared. Programs are designed to be interactive with questions encouraged. Many animal ambassadors are touchable in a safe manner. Programs are flexible to meet specific requests of focus. Please see our brochures found at echoesofnature.org.

Science Spectacular
Eric Energy offers interactive, hands-on science shows that engage kids without a screen. You may choose from programs designed for grade levels Pre-K to middle school or for the whole school. With over 25 years of experience, a well-trained “wacky” scientist will make learning fun and inspire your students. Volunteers from the audience will be used throughout the show.
Grade Level: Pre-K–8
Fee: $525 one grade, $650 single, $1100 back-to-back

Irish Roots and American Branches
Performing live Irish music and dance with their descendant American styles, Footworks illuminates the American story of traditions coming from the Old World and meeting others here, resulting in new traditions. Students learn the powerful role the Irish played in the shaping of Maryland, the United States, and American culture.
Grade Level: Pre-K – 12
Fee: $936 single, $1500 back-to-back (mileage fees may apply)

Keeping the Beat
(A wooden performing surface is suggested.)
When Irish, Scottish, and English immigrants came to the New World, they brought their step dancing traditions. These dances were influenced by the rhythms and melodies of the African, African American, and Native American cultures. Students discover the melting pot and multi-cultural origins of percussive dance in this interactive performance.
Grade Level: K – 12

Drawing Machines (Workshop)
In this single-session design challenge, young makers invent wiggling electrical creatures that draw fantastic geometric patterns. You and your students use engineering and design thinking to make a creature stand, its motor spin, and LED’s glow. Each student creates a working, take-home drawing machine. Workshop cost includes materials for up to 30 participants.

The Passion and Inspiration of the Drums
Percussion World’s high energy blend of spicy Afro-Latin rhythms introduces audiences to exotic world percussion instruments including the balafone, djembe, cuica, and berimbao. Throughout this highly educational, fun, and entertaining performance, students and faculty participate with clapping and call and response, and are invited to play drums from a variety of cultures.
Grade Level: K-12
Fee: $845 single, $945 back to back, $1045 split day, $1350 two shows-two workshops, $845 family night, (four performers)
Multi-Day residencies available. Maximum Audience: Full Auditorium

Rhythm Rocks! (workshop)
Luis Garay’s dynamic percussion workshop introduces students to the exciting and fascinating world of Afro-Latin, Jazz, and World percussion music and instruments including congas, djembes, bongos, balafones, shakers, and much more! His unique “hands-on” style of teaching encourages workshop participants to experience the exhilaration of being “in the groove” as they learn and perform rhythm patterns from different cultures on the actual instruments!
Grade Level: K-12
Fee: $300 single, $450 back to back, $500 split day, $600 – 3 hours workshop (2 performers)
Maximum Audience: 30
